Conservation and Community

The Regatta Foundation supports Dementia research of Professor Adam Greenstein at the University of Manchester. Dementia sadly affects one in seven people over the age of 65 in the UK. The funds will be used for the small artery research he is pioneering which is aimed at restoring healthy blood flow to the brain in dementia.

We partnered with the Conservation in 2023, they build and support foundations helping local grass roots conservation work, across the world, to protect and restore nature on land and at sea. They work towards the following environmental impacts: helping native species to thrive; preserving, protecting and regenerating natural habitats, slowing down and adapting to climate change, and reducing pollution.
Dare 2b will be championing the Ionian Dolphin Project. This focuses on surveying the dolphin and monk seal population around the islands of Paxos and Anti Paxos. The Mediterranean monk seal and common dolphin are both endangered species, with the Ionian Sea containing around 10% of their total Population, the work we are doing with the project will help to protect these endangered species. The other Project we’re proud to be working closely with is the Re-Posidonia Project. The Posidonia Oceanica is a seagrass that hosts the biodiversity of the Mediterranean and helps to maintain the ecological balance, but the survival of this seagrass is being threatened by boat anchoring and the increases in sea temperature. We are supporting the endangered areas by ensuring they are identified, logged and protected alongside iSea, a local partner, using satellite imagery.

Dare 2b are proud to partner with the charity Snow Camp. Snow Camp was set up in 2003 to provide accredited snowsports instructor courses and residential trips abroad for young people across the country. It breaks down barriers and broadens horizons for thousands of underprivileged young people across the UK. Since then, Snow Camp has continued to grow, and mental health support has now become a key component to their work alongside life skills training, qualifications, and volunteering opportunities.
