Red Bull Elements: Meet the four women representing Dare 2b in this epic Alpine adventure race

Once a year, athletes from four disciplines join forces to compete in the Red Bull Elements relay adventure race. Combining the elements of earth, water and air, competitors swim, run, paraglide and mountain bike around the beautiful Lake Annecy.

Meet the four women flying the flag for Team Dare 2b in the 7th edition of this amazing Alpine event on September 23rd.

Stage 1 – Swim // Distance – 2,800m over two laps

Beatrice Mouthon - lives in Sevrier, a village by Lake Annecy facing Talloires.
Is this your first Red Bull Elements race? Yes!
Have you raced in Lake Annecy before? Yes, lots! I used to be a professional triathlete and have always swum and trained in the lake.
What’s your motto for racing? Have fun by sharing the spirit of the outdoors with my teammates. And just slide into the water, even if it’s cold!

Stage 2 – Trail Run // Distance – 11.2km with a 2,300-metre climb up Tournette

Murielle Locatelli - lives in Chambéry, about 40kms from Annecy (people call it the ‘heart of the Alps'!).
Have you competed in trail runs around Annecy before? I always run in the Alps. My last trail was the tour of the Beaufortain in August 2017. I ran with my husband in a 58kms relay at 2,600 meters around the Pierra Monta summit. It was beautiful.
So you enjoy hill climbing? Oh yeah, I love it
What’s your motto for racing? Fun and fun

Stage 3 – Paragliding // Distance – three technical take-offs, including the departure from Tournett

Laurence Pochet - lives in Annecy.
So you are familiar with the landscape? Yes, the landscape is my garden! I’m going climbing with my glider later.
How much does the weather affect your game? The wind is very important. As a paraglider, you must check the weather before every hiking exit
What’s your motto for racing? Fun and fun...

Stage 4 – Mountain Biking // Distance – a 21km race against the slope with 1,500 metres of elevation

Elodie Ronnie - lives in Annecy.
When was your last race? My last XCountry race was 5 years ago! But I have trained hard for this and I know the route well.
Is this a good route for you? It’s very steep which makes it hard, but it’s not too technical. So yes, I think I will enjoy it.
What’s your motto for racing? Have fun with the girls and do your best for the team!
